MACH ADCH-Bronze Whim (JRT)
A.K.A.Whim (a.k.a. Winfall's On A Whim, Bean, Da Bean, Da Bean-Bean, Da Bean Bomb, Whima Bean, Stinker Bean, Teeny Weeny Beany, Teeny Weeny Stinker Beanie, Whimas, Whimsicle, Whimbledon, Squimlet) was born on February 12, 2004, in Ontario, Canada. (She's Canadian, don'tcha know.) She came to me from Pam Riley of Winfall Kennels Whim flew over from Canada with her brother, Money, who now lives with Stacy Peardot-Goudy's mother in Ft. Collins, CO. Whim has a whole slew of family here in the states, including half-sisters and half-brothers. I have Stacy to thank for introducing me to Whim and Pam Riley. Whim is a tiny girl, measuring in at 10.5 inches and weighing 7.5 pounds. She doesn't let that hold her back though, competing against, and beating, dogs up to 3 1/2 inches taller than her in AKC! She is a rocket and sometimes I still wonder where she gets it. In 2006, Whim made it to "the big ring" at the USDAA Cynosport World Games and won the 12" Steeplechase Finals at 2 years old. Although she wasn't in the big ring in 2007, having missed her dog walk contact in the Grand Prix Semi-Finals for the second year in a row, we did earn a spot in the Grand Prix of Dog Agility World Finals in 2008 by winning the 12" Grand Prix class at the Bay Team Regional and by taking second in the 12" Grand Prix Semi-Finals at the World Games. Whim won the 2008 12" Grand Prix at the World Games with a flawless run and took second in the 2009 12" Grand Prix finals with another beautiful run. On February 20, 2011, Whim earned her AKC Master Agility Champion (MACH) title by getting her 20th double Q. The MACH is achieved by accumulating 20 double Q's (qualifying in both the Excellent B Standard and Jumpers with Weaves runs in the same day) and 750 "speed" points. Speed points are gained by being under standard course time(SCT), which is determined by the length of the course. For each second under SCT the dog is, we get a speed point. If the dog wins the class, the speed points are doubled. Whim accumulates speed points like they're going out of style (she currently has just under 3700 speed points, enough for almost 5 MACHs) but the double Q's can be difficult to get. The MACH represents years of hard work and Whim is the first dog I've put a MACH on. I'm very, very proud of her. Articles including Whim
