About Katherine

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to agility in 1999 while doing obedience with my Standard Schnauzer, Perry. Since then, agility has become my life's passion, more a part of my life than any occupation I've had since.

I am currently a Systems Test Engineer at Hewlett-Packard in Ft. Collins, CO. I have worked there since May 1997, just after graduating from Colorado State University.

I have been training dogs since I was a child and I taught the family Kerry Blue Terrier how to heal, sit, down, and stay. When I finally got a home of my own in 1999, I got my first dog, Perry. Once I started competing with Perry, I was hooked.

I got my second dog, Ally, my first Jack Russell Terrier, in 2002 and vowed never to be without one again. Jack Russell Terriers are like Lay's Potato Chips, you can't have just one. I now have three JRTs.

I've also owned and run Border Collies and love working with them as well. They are completely different than the JRTs but just as much fun! I just got my new Border Collie puppy, Amp'd, from Stacy Peardot-Goudy (Dream Weaver Border Collies). I'm looking forward to all the adventures Amp'd and I will have.

About Far Out Agility

Far Out Agility is located in Nunn, Colorado, which is 12 miles directly east of Wellington. The idea for the name came to me when I was out walking my dogs in the grasslands of north eastern Colorado near my home one day. Since Nunn, Colorado, really IS far out, I decided to name my agility training business that. And, besides, sometimes I can be a little "far out"!
